2026 MISSIONARY GUESTS

Rev. Jonah
Faithful to the Scriptures. True to the Reformed Faith. Obedient to the Great Commission.

GO26 is a time where we as a church can celebrate and lament on how the Gospel is advancing throughout the world. Regardless, “The Mission Continues”. It is my prayer that the Lord will use Pastor Jonah to help us see more clearly the advances and threats we face as we GO in 2026. Our missionary guests include Steve & Julie Jessen, Oliver & Kim Pierce, and F.. At this writing, we partner with 37 missionary families and four organizations. For 2026 there have been several missionaries added to Faith Promise Family. Others have retired or are no longer serving. Our Faith Promise budget for the year is $233,200. In addition to financial support, I ask, “What are our prayer goals for 2026? How do we measure that?” Please take a copy of our GO2026 list of missionaries and their email addresses. Ask the Lord for guidance and pick at least one to email with a request for their prayer updates. Our prayer remains, make us Lord a people that are faithful to the Scriptures, true to the Reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission.

Exalting Christ Together, Pastor James

Pierce

Oliver and Kim Pierce – MTW-Belgium
Oliver and Kim Pierce are launching a Reformed University Fellowship Global (RUF-G) campus ministry in Brussels, Belgium, in partnership with Mission to the World and Hope International Church of Brussels. Brussels is one of the most international and secularized cities in Europe—home to over 160 nationalities and more than 150,000 university students in the metro area. As the headquarters of the European Union and NATO, it attracts thousands of young people from around the world, many from Muslim-majority or otherwise unreached nations where access to the gospel is severely limited. With less than 1.5% of the city identifying as evangelical, the need is immense. RUF-G Brussels aims to reach both international and local students with the hope of Christ, discipling and equipping them for a lifetime of service in the global Church. Oliver first developed a passion for student ministry through RUF at MTSU, IUP, and Wofford College. Now, the Pierces are eager to see the nations reached through the universities of Brussels—believing that reaching the university can reach the world.

NEW MISSIONARIES TO ARDEN

Paul Cary – MTW – Scotland
Cary
When Paul left engineering to explore ministry, he enrolled in a seminary in Edinburgh, Scotland. He fell in love with Scotland and sought a way to pursue ministry there. Paul’s pastor in Scotland recognized his gifts in ministry as a team player whose attention to detail blessed the church. Yet, he also saw the immediate need for pioneering pastors in Scotland who could work relatively independently to plant or revive churches. In 2019, no clear path existed to go as a missionary to Scotland, so he recommended that Paul explore other ministry opportunities. After four years of working with church plants in Philadelphia and Romania, things changed. MTW built strong relationships in Scotland, and a new opportunity arose to return. The pastor emailed Paul. “Cornerstone is trying to plant in Gilmerton and start a Spanish-speaking congregation. We are at full stretch and need the kind of gifts you bring: music, tech, discipleship, cross-cultural ministry. … We know we work well together, and you get our DNA.” Praise God for such a clear calling. Pray for Paul as he works with the church planting team at Cornerstone in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Donny and Courtney Harwood – MTW-ScotlandHarwood
Donny and Courtney met while studying in Atlanta in December 2012 and married in Scotland in November 2013. Since then, the Harwood family has expanded with the addition of their two beautiful children. Donny is a native of Glasgow, Scotland, and serves as a bi-vocational assistant pastor in a PCA church in Newnan, Georgia. Alongside his role at the church, Donny uses his background in physics to serve in a data and analytics role for a large corporation in Atlanta. Courtney is a native of Milledgeville, Georgia, and is a writer. She spends much of her time at home with the kids, but you will also find her working on her latest fiction novel in the local coffee shop. The Harwoods are following God’s call to return to Donny’s native land and his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, to strengthen an existing Free Church congregation in the heart of the student dense West End and to plant churches as part of the Free Church of Scotland’s vision to plant 30 churches by 2030. While Donny is doing the work of preaching, discipleship, and evangelism, Courtney will be ministering to the women and youth of Glasgow.
