S.U.P.E.R. Saints
“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” Mark Twain
The seniors at Arden (technically those 55 years and older) are known as S.U.P.E.R. Saints. This acronym stands for saints that are super- Sustained Under the Power of the Eternal Redeemer. Our purpose is fellowship and mutual encouragement. This always includes eating well! We do this in the following ways:
LUNCHEONS
During the school year, we meet the last Thursday of each month at 12:30 in the Multi-Purpose Room. We are blessed to have the Fleming, Thompson, and Banks families that facilitate the lunch. As we always eat well, we have various programs as well as devotions brought by the pastors of the staff.
ARDEN TRAVELERS
As most seniors enjoy traveling, we coordinate several events each year. They have included outings to Flat Rock Theatre, visits to Knoxville, Tennessee, tours of local businesses, service projects to our local missionaries from Asheville to Athens, GA, and musical productions. The majority of these have been one-day trips but we have done some overnight trips as well. By using the church bus, we have been able to
travel in an economical way.
Come join us in this fun ministry. If you have suggestions or questions, please contact pastor Ken Crabb at kcrabb@ardenpresbyterian.org
