Missions

While every church has its own core values or DNA, Arden has a rich history in missions. With the last words of our Lord commanding us to take the gospel to every nation, we serve a great God who provides for this great task. Author john Stott puts it this way:

“His authority allows us to dare to go to all nations. His authority in heaven gives us our only hope of success. And his presence with us leaves us no other choice.”

Your World Missions Committee is responsible for the review and oversight of Arden’s mission efforts, working with missionaries, and facilitating mission trips, either local or international. We currently support more than 30 missionary units as well as local benevolences.

FAITH PROMISE GIVING

The support of individual missionaries is through Faith Promise giving, which are funds given to world evangelization over and above the tithe and giving to the church “general fund.” While these gifts can be given anytime in the year our members and friends make their pledge at the conclusion of our Annual Missions Festival. These pledges provide the basis for our continual support and addition of new missionaries. Our 2011 Missions Festival is scheduled for January 26-30.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

We’re committed to every member involvement by the motto, GO-PRAY-SEND

GO- Perhaps you can go on local mission trips here in Asheville, or join one of our international trips with our youth. In 2011, we’ll have two teams going to Belize.

PRAY-Please pray for our missionaries weekly. We assist you in providing current missionaries needs and praise items in the Missions Moments in every Sunday’s bulletin.

SEND- Be prayerful about your finances being used to support and send out new missionaries. As mentioned above, this is done through our Faith Promise Giving.
