Children's Ministry

The Children’s Ministry at Arden Presbyterian Church exists to come alongside parents and assist them in the discipleship of their covenant children.  We seek to educate children in the truths of Scripture, train them to worship the Covenant God, and integrate them into the life of the church.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Our Sunday School program utilizes the “Show Me Jesus” curriculum from Great Commission Publications.  This curriculum intentionally exposes our covenant children to the “whole counsel of God” in an age-appropriate way.  Our children’s Sunday School classes meet from 9:15-10:15 am.   The following reflects curriculum for the Fall 2010 Quarter.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH

During our worship service, we provide a children’s worship service during the sermon for children four years old thru first grade.  We typically dismiss children for this service during the offertory, and the children gather in the Fellowship Room (Sanctuary Lower Level).  This is a time where we intentionally train our children to worship.  We have a brief snack and then spend time learning about hymns, the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostle’s Creed, and a Bible story.  It is a fun time of worship and learning for the kids.  If you would rather keep your children with you during the worship service, we encourage you to do so.

CATECHISM

We believe it is important not only to teach our children directly from the Bible but also to teach our children biblical doctrine, summaries of what we believe the Bible teaches.  We offer a Catechism program for children four years old thru fifth grade on Wednesday evenings, concurrent with our Mid-Week at Arden program for adults.  Our program runs from 6:30-7:30 pm.
